Upset with the prolonged battle regarding water and electricity with the Telangana government, sources say that the Andhra Pradesh government would be requesting the Krishna River Management Board (KRMB) to take control of all the reservoirs and power stations constructed on river Krishna. This is for ensuring fair distribution of critical power and water. The AP Reorganisation Act-2014 had mandated creation of two river boards for managing the Krishna and Godavari rivers which also includes the reservoirs built over them in the two states. Now, Andhra Pradesh feels that the division of Krishna river and its reservoirs was actually done in due haste, hence the utter chaos. According to AP sources, the state feels that the centre has overlooked a major point. In Srisailam, if one state decides for releasing water without consulting the other state, it can do so freely which is now being done by TS. It has to be seen how the centre is going to take action on this proposal so that a permanent solution can be arrived.
