The government of Singapore has reportedly nominated Khoo Teng Chye, the executive director of Centre for Livable Cities (CLC), as its official representative for the project involving Andhra Pradesh capital city. According to a press note issued by the AP chief minister's office, Khoo would be guiding the state's municipal administration and urban development (MA&UD) department for planning the development of AP’s new capital. AP CM Chandrababu Naidu met Singapore‘s minister Iswaran during his three-day where Iswaran had assured all out support from the Singapore government for Naidu’s initiatives of developing new cities, and also towards making AP an industrial and logistics hub. When Khoo reportedly took the CM for a tour of the Marina Bay Sands resort, Naidu seems to have expressed his desire to develop a tourism project on similar lines in Vizag. Meanwhile, the Port of Singapore Authority (PSA) is expected to announce its plans to develop AP’s ports.
