Andhra Pradesh government had dashed a letter to the Center that it will not be able to give salaries to its employees for the month of January (Given in February 1st week). The letter said the five and half Lakh employees will be drawing 2500 Crore salaries per month. And the AP treasury only has 1200 Crore balance as of now for the next month expenses. Out of which 1000 Crore is necessary for normal administration and 200 Crore towards regular bills of establishment, works and maintenance for January. Another Rs 250 crore has to be paid to the civil supplies department for doling out Sankranti gifts to one crore poor people. So Andhra Pradesh government has asked Center to immediately release 2500 Crore to bail out the state from this crisis. It may be reminded to our readers that Center is being reckless towards helping the truncated state. Chandrababu Naidu is cornered as he can not blackmail the Center for funds since the Modi's government enjoys majority on its own. So Andhra Pradesh is totally at the mercy of Center in this aspect. On the other side, Central Budget will be put up on February 26th and AP will eagerly wait to sense a change in its fortunes.
