The so called generous services of the government of Singapore for Andhra Pradesh’s capital development may prove to be hollow if one goes by a news report in a leading national daily today. It could prove to become a big issue if the details are true.

The news report states clearly that as part of the capital master plan, Singapore would be building Assembly building, Raj Bhavan, Secretariat and others at free of cost without demanding a single paisa from the government.

In return, sources say that the Singapore based private builders like Jurong have sought earmarking of 10,000 acres of land in return for them, for entertainment zones, commercial and real estate development.

This land being sought close to Krishna River has reportedly been more or less accepted by AP government because when centre doesn’t give funds, Singapore has now pitched in and they have to be compensated. The controversy surrounding AP capital region doesn’t end here.
