Nothing wrong with Hyderabad roads?Everyone knows how roads in Hyderabad will be. Everywhere drains will be flowing, some or the other departments will dig deep pits and later leave it like it putting lives of the people in danger, nalas will be flowing even for a small drizzle, road accidents happen everyday and people are subjected to heavy traffic jams.
However Telangana CM KCR's cabinet minister says there is nothing wrong in Hyderabad roads. Responding to a question in the assembly, Home Minister Nayani Narasimha Reddy said he found no problem while traveling on Hyderbad roads. A member asked him about the worsening traffic jams.
As a Minister, Nayani Narasimha Reddy may not find any problem with Hyderabad roads and for that matter any roads in Telangana. However even his own police statistice says accidents rose to 2,585 in 2014 compared to 2,409 in 2013.
Only the number of fatal accidents dropped to 358 in 2014 from 447 in 2013. Also, there has been an increase in accidents resulting to injuries to 2,540 in 2014 compared to 2,294 in 2013.How come Nayani be so ignorat that the number of victims was the highest last year with 183 people walking on the city's roads killed in accidents followed by 103 twowheeler riders who lost their lives. The number of accidents caused by two-wheelers was 848 last year followed by 808 accidents caused by cars. Analysts say he should be sensitve to the lives of the common people.
