After the Andhra Pradesh government has taken chances to demand money and place their proposals in front of the Centre, it is time for Telangana State government to place their petition to approve the conversion of state roads into National Highways. The Telangana Roads and Transport Minister Tummala Nageswara Rao met to Union Minister Nithin Gadkari to seek this status. 


Nageshwar Rao asked sufficient funds to convert the 1080 kilometres highway into a national highway. The State Minister said that in Telangana the present Highway extend to 2,593 kilometres and if the Centre gives a nod to this proposal then the state will reach the average of India's national highways for state.


According to sources, the Union Minister has almost given a nod and said that the process will take some time. Not only this but Nithin Gadkari also promised to grant Rs 2000 crores for the construction of roads in affected areas like Adilabad, Karimnagar and Warangal districts.
