Circa 2001-03. There was excitement all over the country regarding the grand discovery of natural gas off the coast of Andhra Pradesh called Krishna-Godavari basin and the future prospects of using them for development. But instead of AP, this gas landed up in the hands of Reliance group and a Gujarat state owned company.

Now sources say that cash starved AP is all set to stake its claim for revenues coming from taxes here.

Since the NDA government is anyway giving states a share in there venues from the recent coal block auctions, Andhra Pradesh cabinet has reportedly decided to request the Centre to allocate is share in the revenue being generated from the off shore oil as well as natural gas exploration in east coast.


Narendra Modi government consents


In case Narendra Modi government consents for sharing its revenues,then AP is expected to receive more than Rs 10,000 crore every year from Centre's oil exploration revenues, which Naidu plans to use for developing towns and cities in east coast and also plan for a sagarmala road network. Let’s see if the decade old mistake would berectified by Naidu!
