The city’s chilling spot, Tank Bund, has been shut down for two weeks as part of repair works that are to be done to the age old famous chill out spot. The Telangana Government issued a notice to the public regarding the inconvenience caused due to the repair works. The traffic diversions because of this are being controlled by the Traffic Dept.
It is known that the waste water from the industrial areas has been let into the beautiful Tank Bund but now that water is said to be diverted and released in Kalasiguda Nala from this July. The Hyderabad Metropolitan Water Supply & Sewerage Board has planned to lay a four kms new water lines from Kukatpally.
Keeping the heavy traffic in mind, the department is trying its
maximum to avoid any kind of jam. It seems this could also take up the
initiative of Cleaning the Hussain Sagar as part of KCR’s target. Even though
there would a few traffic troubles the Hyderabadis are happy to know that Tank
Bund will be back to its original beauty.
