India's highest judiciary, The Supreme Court today came with a sensational landmark judgement which will have powerful impact in future. Supreme Court headed by Justice Dipak Misra made serious statement that there shouldn't be any mediation and compromise at any cost in rape cases and added woman's body is her temple.
Judge termed that compromise marriage between rapist and the rape victim is an insult to the dignity of the woman. Court felt that such arrangement lacks sensitivity among people and those who are promoting such compromise.
Supreme Court's remarks came after Madras High Court
Supreme Court added that any courts cannot take such lenient view on rapes. Supreme Court's remarks came after Madras High Court postponed 7 years punishment to rapists though they are convicted asking the victim to compromise with them.
Supreme Court passed the order after hearing to the Madhya Pradesh
government's plea where it challenged lower court which acquitted a
rapist.
