In the scenario involving erstwhile united Andhra Pradesh, various media houses were more or less directly biased towards a major political party TDP and they faced allegations that they are acting as their unofficial mouthpieces. Eenadu and Andhra Jyothy were associated with TDP for a long time while Sakshi was started to promote YSR,Congress and then YSRCP.
Sakshi staff were given specific orders
Many in political circles these days are reportedly surprised by how Sakshi is down-playing the stories involving YSRCP leaders. There are reports that Sakshi staff were given specific orders that they should be giving equal coverage to all the major parties from now on in AP.
They were also told not to simply sensation alise or carry instigating stories based on the policies of YSRCP that would lash out at other political parties. Sources say that from now, even press releases of Gali and Rajendra Prasad, as well as TDP leaders and AP CM Chandra Babu Naidu will be given good coverage.
Hence, Sakshi will not simply represent an overdose of Jagan and YSRCP leaders, while the leaders of all parties will be getting decent coverage. In this regard, all the instructions were reportedly passed on to the staff, while YSRCP media wing been seems to have been ignored by Saakshi these days. This comes on the heels of Andhrajyothi giving good mileage to Jagan camp while also exposing TDP leaders’corruption in AP.
