It seems that changes in Vijayawada city have taken place drastically after deciding the capital near the city. Fly-over near Durga temple will be started in October month along with foundation for Capital City in Amaravati. City people were suffered with Traffic Jam near Durga Temple in NH – 9 (Hyderabad – Vijayawada) with bottle neck road. This is the election promise given by TDP in 2014 elections.
Central Government has approved the plan and sanctioned 462 crores for the construction of Fly-over near Durga Temple. Government got the primary permissions from Inland Waterways Authority of India (IWAI) for the construction of Pillars in Krishna Water. The length of this flyover is around 1.8 KMs starting from Sitara Theatre. There might be possibility to laid pillar in the river after Durga Ghat.
Foot-over-bridge (FOB), Ashok Pillar and Potti Sriramulu Statue have chance to replace in Fly-over construction. Police Quarters and Irrigation quarters also be replaced during this construction. If Government plans to construct Pillar on road, 3 meters of land required for the construction. It can’t possible that much of land in busiest National Highway. Laying the Pillar in Krishna River is the only option to the Government to save the road near the temple.
