Ragging menace is spreading its wings in such shocking manner that it is nipping many young lives in bud. Students in the name of ragging are crossing all limits and it is not confined to professional colleges but also expanded in degree and junior colleges.
Suicide of Rishikeshwari in NU
Andhra Pradesh witnessed huge public outcry following the suicide of Rishikeshwari in Nagarjuna University hostel. Even as investigations are underway to bring the influential culprits to book, many other students ended their lives committing suicides due to ragging in the state.
Now AP education minister Ganta Srinivasa Rao speaking at Universities VCs review meeting held in Vijayawada said he will turn the state free from ragging. He said Government is planning to bring in laws which will instill such fear among students that they will be scared at the thought of ragging. He said Telangana government came with unilateral decision on Potti Sriramulu Telugu University,Ambedkar Open University,Jawaharlal Nehru University and added government will respond after court order.
