The Andhra Pradesh government is reportedly planning to launch an innovative crowd-funding initiative for the much touted development of new state capital of Amaravati. Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be launching this unique initiative when he lays the foundation stone for the proposed new capital on October 22.

Under this initiative, there will reportedly be provisions for digital brick on which the people who donate can get the names engraved as part of their contributions to the proposed capital from any other region in the world.

Chandrababu Naidu reportedly discussed

Presiding over a recent cabinet meeting in Vijayawada to discuss the arrangements for the foundation ceremony, CM Chandrababu Naidu reportedly discussed this proposed initiative with officials. Naidu feels that this would usher  a sense of ownership over this capital.

The event will also feature a special performance called "Raithu Vandanam", which involves thanking farmers for their heartful contributions to the capital. Naidu also wanted soil pots to be coming from 16,000 villages in the state.
