Every one of us is a spiritual being. But we are not aware of our Spiritual nature as it is lying some where deep inside us and we have to awaken it. We often turn to god when our earthly problems see no light of solutions. This is the moment we realize that there is more than life and more than fulfillment of material existence.
We have a desire and this is the desire to know about him and it is Spiritual awakening. Our soul falsely identifies itself with physical form. Its true nature is SAT CHIT ANANDA which means eternally knowledgeable and blissful but it is constantly searching for happiness.
We think that happiness lies in material enjoyment and we are seeking those for meaningless pleasures. But these would give temporary pleasure. But we won't get complete satisfaction and bliss. But even if we have good luck and fortune through out, the last part of life will be more miserable.
At this point we feel exhausted and we ask questions like who i am, what will happen after death , what is the real purpose of life , has my life served any purpose ? So start serving God right now. This will liberate you from the never ending cycle of both birth as well as death.
