In what is said to be Dhoni's final match as captain, India A lost to England in the warm up match here at Brabourne Cricket stadium in Mumbai. The men in Blue batted well to put a score of 304 runs in their limited overs where the visitors chased the target sparing 7 balls. This gave the English team a boosting victory ahead of the actual series.
Winning the toss first, The England captain Morgan opted to field first. The crowd in the stadium has turned out in huge number to watch the Jarkhand dynamite bat. Ambati Rayudu who could not make into the T20 and One day squad scored a century. Soon after the crowd Chanted Dhoni..Dhoni where Rayudu was retired hurt and Mr.cool made his way into the ground.
The crowd of around 15,000 had trooped in to watch a vintage Dhoni and he didn’t disappoint, hitting a 40-ball, unbeaten 68. Every shot off Dhoni’s blade got huge response. He smashed Chris Woakes’ final over for 23 runs, including two sixes and two fours, taking the hosts past 300.
In Indian batting another opener Shikar Dhawan looked good with his half century. Yuvraj struggled earlier but managed to score half century which is a good sign.
In England innings, openers Roy (62) and Hales(40) gave a good start which was later carried by Sam Billings who scored 93 of just 85 balls. The Indian bowlers specially the senior bowler Nehra gave away 50 runs in just 6 overs. Kuldeep Yadav looked good with 5 wickets giving away 60 runs in his quota of 10 overs.
