Chennai sources have stated that Indian cricketer R. Ashwin hasn't been part of the Indian limited overs set-up for the last couple of series. The selectors said he was 'rested' but the star Office went on to enjoy a fruitful County stint with Worcestershire. Accordingly Yuzvendra Chahal and Kuldeep Yadav have performed in the series against Sri Lanka and Australia respectively and there are already whispers in the Indian cricket circuit that it can be difficult for Ashwin to make a comeback in the ODI set-up.
Meanwhile the off spinner, who is currently playing Ranji Trophy for Tamil Nadu against Andhra, is not losing sleep.
Ashwin said "For him, it's not a comeback and
he is not desperate at all. One day, the opportunity will come on his door
knocking because he hasn’t done too much wrong. So, when he gets the
opportunity, he will probably try and raise his game to the best of his
ability".
