Sri Lanka will not have the services of Lasith Malinga's "Slinga" in the T20I's as he has been rested from the T20 squad. He already was lefted from the BPL due to personal reasons. Suranga Lakmal has also been excluded. The squad which faced Pakistan earlier has totally been changed and only 6 players have been retained.
Sachith Pathirana and Chaturanga de Silva are the two left-arm spinners and Akila Dhananjaya is the lonely specialist spinner in the squad. Sri Lankan selectors never responded why he was excluded from the squad.
At the same time, few sources said he was omitted intentionally as his economy has been over 10 and that is why he was dropped. It should be noted that, even though Malinga was available for the ODI matches, he was not even considered to be included in the squad. Without Lakmal and Malinga, Sri Lanka bowling attack is toothless.
