Dr. Nandamuri Taraka Ramarao, also known as 'Anna Gaaru' of Andhra Pradesh is not only popular among Telugus, South Indians but also entire world for his un-matcha-ble legendeary acting abilities and leadership qualities. There was HUGE demad to establish his statue within parliament of India since several years.

Finally NTR's daughter Purandeswari who happened to be Minister of State for Human Resource Development from Indian National Congress made this a possibility. It's been many years since a Telugu Bidda statue was established in Indian Parliament. Today 10:30 pronounced to be muhurat for the statue establishment. NTR created many, 'many' records in films and politics and his idol is also following the same trend by being the longest statue ever placed in Indian Parliament.

10:55am: UPA chairperson Sonia Gandhi didn't attend the event and Congress MP VH [V. Hanumantha rao] supported it stating " NTR was against Indira, Rajiv and other Congress leaders. It is good that Soniaji didn't attend the event"


10:30am:
Sri. Meera Kumar unvieled the 9.3 feet bronge statue of Nandamuri Taraka Rama Rao. Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, Sri. LK Advani, Central Ministers: Gulamnabi Ajad, Jairam Ramesh, Jaipal Reddy, Shinde and Chandrababu Naidu, Balakrishna, Junior NTR, Kalyan Ram, also Gutta Sukhender Reddy, Lagadapati Rajagopal, Faruk Abdullah, Lakshmi Parvati and others are among the attendees.

10:15am:
Celebrations at peak in Nimmakuru [Krishna District]... happened to be birth place of Great NTR. Local people are expressing their happiness.

10:00am: NTR statue is to be unvieled within few minutes NTR Family members, TDP Member, Congress Leaders reached parliament.

Nandamuri family memebers, Chandra Babu Naidu and TDP leaders reached delhi.

Monday: 
Rajya Sabha MP Hanumantha Rao pushed the name of the state's first dalit chief minister Sanjivayya for a statue in a letter to the Speaker on Monday.

Monday: A group of Congress MPs -- Union minister Panabaka Lakshmi, MPs K S Rao, A Sai Pratap, Anantha Venkatrami Reddy -- petitioned party chief Sonia Gandhi and complained that NTR was not a national figure. While underlining that NTR and Congress had remained bitter enemies till the end, they argued many Telugu leaders of national stature had failed to make it to the crowded statue scene in the precincts of Parliament.
