Your hairstyle can make or break your bridal look. We tell you how to choose the one that complements your face structure, dress and make-up 1. Choose a hairstyle that goes with your dress "The first thing you must do is get your wedding dress designed," says Reetu Dang, hair expert. Your hairstyle, jewellery and other accessories will depend on the design of your wedding dress. Don't decide on a look just because you saw someone wearing it. If need be, take the help of your hairstylist and round up on the one that complements your face and your wedding dress.  2. Be realistic and reasonable Everyone isn't gifted with naturally thick or lustrous hair. If you have very fine or very short hair, accept the fact that there are limitations with the texture of your hair. Don't force your stylist to create a hairstyle that makes your hair look something it is not. Also, to shortlist a good hairdo, you can browse through the web as well as various beauty magazines and take cut-outs of the ones you like, to your next appointment with the stylist. The stylist can then suggest the best one for you. 3. Be flexible and experimental "Gone are the days when the hairstyle didn't matter because you invariably covered your hair with a ghoonghat. The contemporary bride shows off both her glorious hairstyle and her confidence," says Dang. So opt for a hairdresser who specialises in bridal hairstyles — someone who can discuss various options with you. An expert will take into account your dress, your hair texture and your personality before making suggestions. Be open to trying out something new instead of being rigid. The stylist can offer several variations in a hairstyle using fresh flowers and jewels as hair accessories. 4. Keep it real and elegant Yes, your wedding day is definitely the most special day in your life and you indeed want to look picture perfect but that doesn't mean you overdo everything. "If you are wearing a dress that has too much detailing like patchwork or embroidery, opt for a simple hairstyle — may be a bun or a French twist," says Dang. This will bring you and your dress into focus. If you are wearing a simple dress, you can go for a hairstyle that's a bit more glamorous. But make sure you are comfortable sporting it. You shouldn't feel conscious or weird as your facial expressions will say it all.  5. Do not pick one without a trial Just because your stylist is a wedding specialist, doesn't mean you'll like everything he/she does or suggests. A trial appointment will give you an idea of how the hairstyle will look on you. Feel free to suggest changes if any. Moreover, if the salon or stylist wants to charge you a fortune for the trial, switch to another stylist. Bridal hair trials are usually a complimentary service or done at a very minimal cost.
