Superstar Rajnikanth had last appeared in the karthik Subbaraj directorial petta which hit screens this pongal and the movie co-starred Makkal Selvan Vijay Sethupathi, trisha, simran, nawazuddin siddiqui, sasikumar and malavika mohanan and is now working in Darbar.
Darbar happens to be the 167th movie of the actor helmed by AR murugadoss and the movie will feature Superstar as a cop after Pandian, and is filmed in Mumbai. The movie which also stars Nayanthara, nivetha thomas, yogi babu is planned as a pongal 2020 release.
The latest buzz is that AR murugadoss told a new story to Rajnikanth which the actor has liked and it is also said that lyca productions which bankrolls darbar will bankroll this movie. On the other hand, Rajnikanth was also known to have signed a movie with Siva after seeing Viswasam. The movie already signed an array of actors with Keerthy suresh essaying the role of Rajini's sister. Meanwhile, trisha has been confirmed to play the female lead role in AR Murugadoss's next venture featuring rajinikanth in the lead role. Already she worked under ARM for 'Stalin'.
