Story

Director AL Vijay is back for the second time this year after the disastrous movie Watchman with Devi 2, the sequel to his 2016 flick Devi starring Prabhu Deva and Tamannaah. Here's team AP Herald's exclusive first on net Devi 2 review.

The movie begins from where Devi ended, and this time as Krishna is expected to be possessed by Ruby, now he starts behaving indifferently. He starts going behind women, behaving like a Casanova, and it is found that another spirit has entered him. Now was Devi able to rescue her husband from the New spirit and what the spirit wanted is what Devi 2 is all about.

Star Performance

Tamannaah is perfect as Devi, and her character is equally balanced between sizzling hot sexy glam act and the performance angle, and she oozes oomph in ready ready song. Prabhu Deva gets multiple shades this time as a good husband and a Casanova and he impresses. Kovai Sarala evokes a few laughs while the rest of the cast including Sonu Sood, Ajmal, Nandita Swetha, etc are aptly cast and are adequate.

Techinical Team

Background score by Sam CS is loud and jarring while of his songs Ready Ready is hot and sexy thanks to the sensual visuals featuring the hot as hell Tamannaah. Cinematography by Ayananka Bose is good while editing by Anthony could have been better. The action scenes look amateurish and they are unnecessary too. The writing could have been better. However, AL Vijay has used the same winning

Analysis

Director AL Vijay begins from where he left in Devi released in 2016 and comes with an interesting premise of a playboy entering into Krishna and Devi's attempts to tame him and rescue from the spirits. The first half is racy with some funny episodes while the second half drags slightly with song placements. Despite drags, Prabhu Deva and Tamannaah try to keep the audience engaged with adequate acts and AL Vijay gives some interesting twists in the screenplay that makes the movie pretty decent and finally ends an average product.

Verdict: With some fun and entertaining moments, Devi 2 ends an average product.
