Saaho Review : Fools Paradise

What Is Good

  • Production Values
  • Cinematography
  • Dubai Action Episode

What Is Bad

  • Substandard Screenplay
  • Writing
  • Poor VFX
  • Prabhas Totally Wasted
  • Predictable Twists
Bottom Line: Either Skip It or Suffer

After the blockbuster result of the magnum opus Baahubali series, action hero Prabhas returns to silver screen with an action packed avatar in Sujeeth directorial Saaho. After years of wait for getting to witness the movie Saaho is out today. Here's team AP Herald's exclusive first on net Saaho review.

Saaho begins at Waaji City with the kidnap of a minister and Robbery of 2000 crores, and Ashok (Prabhas) and Amrita Nair (Shraddha Kapoor) enter to investigate the robbery. There are numerous baddies behind a black box, and Ashok has a hidden real identity as well. Who is Ashok really, and was he able to protect the black Box and his love Amritha Nair from the numerous baddies is what the action packed Saaho is all about.

Star Performance

Prabhas was looking all-time worst on screen, he was looking weak, sleep-deprived, as if he came from the hospital for shooting while Shraddha Kapoor is a perfect foil as she tries hard to emote. Neil Nitin Mukesh and Arun Vijay are menacing while the rest of the cast including Mandira Bedi, Chunky Pandey, Lal, Jackie Shroff, and mahesh Manjrekar score in their limited scope.

Techinical Team

Background score by Ghibran helps the momentum of the movie stay afresh throughout while of the songs, Ye Chota nuvvunna, Bad boy pass the muster. Cinematography by Madhie captures the terrific action sequences and chases effectively while editing by Sreekar Prasad must have been better.

After making just one movie Run Raja Run, director Sujeeth has got a massive opportunity to direct a grand action entertainer Saaho and the director seems to have fumbled. The first half of the movie moves at a good pace with some interesting action sequences and culminating with a stunning twist while the second half takes a cliched route and is filled with stunts alone with no room for logic and with too many dragged episodes. Prabhas is the pillar of Saaho with his stunning physique and dedication in action episodes which make them look realistic and deadly and he tries hard to makeup for the flaws and cliches in the screenplay in vain. Though there are lot of goosebumps action moments in many parts of the screenplay, on the whole it gives the feel of a dubbed movie, and with poor execution and with uninteresting screenplay and performances, Saaho ends as an all style and no substance passable commercial masala flick that might appeal to Prabhas fans alone
