The actor has lots of awards and accolades to his name. He was last seen directing 'Anaamika' which is an official remake of 'Kahaani'. The movie had Nayantara in lead role and it got average response at Box-Office.

Mahesh was impressed with Shekar's plot line
A reliable source said, "Mahesh was impressed with Shekar's plot line and he gave his verbal consent to the director. The actor has asked Shekar Kammula to come back with a complete bound script as the director initially met him with a draft. This movie will show Mahesh in a new dimension."
