Universal Hero Kamal Hassan's Cheekati Rajyam is not releasing on November 12th as planned earlier. The makers have decided to push the Telugu version release to November 20th. This will make sure that Akhil Akkineni's debut movie, Akhil will have a solo release and breathing space at the box office.

It is said that Nagarjuna specially called Kamal Hassan and requested him to postpone the film for his son and Kamal agreed readily. This decision will also give Cheekati Rajyam team enough time for promoting their film. On the other side, the Tamil version, Thoonga Vanam will release on November 10th as planned earlier.

Cheekati Rajyam had completed its censor formalities a short while ago and was given U/A certificate with zero cuts. The audio launch event of the film will take place tomorrow in Hyderabad. The makers will then officially announce their release plan. They will also kick start the promotions campaign with the audio launch event.

The shooting is completed in a record 39 working days. Strong Buzz emerging from Kollywood is that the movie is a heavily inspired from a French film in which the entire story takes place in one night. Kamal Hassan's associate Rajesh is directing the film which is a bilingual made simultaneously in Telugu and Tamil. Trisha is the female lead.
