Kamal celebrated his 61st birthday on 7 of November. Being a versatile actor, he had proved himself not only as a cine artist, but also as a lyricist, choreographer, screenwriter, playback singer, producer, and director.


While his fans and cine industry were celebrating his birthday, the actor made his birthday special in his own way. As a philanthropists and a voracious reader, he usually visits difficult sorts of writers every year on his birthday and honors them.


This time, the actor made his way to Pondicherry, for meeting a senior Tamil writer Ki Rajanarayanan. He is a Folklore professional at the Pondicherry University and is known for his works on Karisal land. He has also won the Sahitya Academy award and is fondly known as Ki Ra.


Kamal spend quality time with the writer Ki Ra on his birthday and honored him with one lakh rupees. Suka, a popular Tamil writer, also accompanied Kamal on his meet with the writer. Suka has penned dialogues for Kamal in his upcoming movie, Thoonga vanam.
