Everyone of us in Tamil Nadu would have watched 'Premam' right now. The Malayalam movie was a perfect love story which will take everyone to their olden days. The movie was written, edited, and directed by Alphonse Putharen.
Nivin Pauly did male lead and the movie features Madonna Sebastian, Sai Pallavi, and Anupama Parameshwaran in female lead roles. The movie had 17 debutante actors. This became on of the biggest hits in Kerala. There was a huge race to bag the remake rights.
Recently Telugu rights was bagged by Radha Krishna. Famous telugu director Chandu Mondeti will direct the movie in Telugu.The Telugu version is titled as 'Majnu'. S.Radhakrishna bank-rolls this project under Haarika and Hassine Creations banner. Naga Chaitanya will be doing male lead in Telugu version. There were lots of speculations regarding the Tamil remake version.
It was said that Dhanush has bagged the rights and Vijay Sethupathi will do the lead role in it. But Dhanush has now clarified that he never bought the rights of the movie and he never made any plans too.
