Surya never had a good time with 'Massu', The movie was a failure. He made a come back with 'Pasanga 2'. Surya's 2D Entertainment funds the project. Bindhu Madhavi, Munishkanth, Karthik, Vidya Pradeep were seen in lead roles along with Surya and Amala Paul did extended cameo roles.
The movie had music by Arol Correli. The movie got released on 24th of December. It opened to positive critics and reviews. The year has ended on a high note for Kollywood. It was said that the movie will also have a parallel release in Telugu version.
But 'Memu' never got a release. It was said that the dubbing works were not completed initially. But later it was confirmed the dubbing and post production works were also completed. So what was the reason ? An inside source revealed that Surya was the reason.
Surya wanted to have a big release in Telugu. But as there were no takers, the actor decided to release the movie by himself. At the last minute to make more profits he decided to delay the release. The good run of 'Bhale Manchi Roju' was also one of the reason.
