Ajay Devgn is facing heat as he acted in advertisement promoting tobacco products. Delhi government's Health Department has issued a strict compliance notice to Ajay Devgn for appearing in that ad. S.K.Arora who is Additional Director (Health) said,

"All kind of direct and indirect advertisement of tobacco products were banned with respect to section 5 of Cigarette and Other Tobacco Product Act 2003. But still the Pan Masala is advertised as brand promotion of Gutka/Tobacco product and it misleads the consumers.

This especially spoils minors and it is a great violation of public health practice as per COTPA 2003. As per section 5 of COTPA, the party who appears in advertisement is also liable under the violation."

It has to be noted that by January, Health Department has urged actors Shah Rukh Khan, Saif Ali Khan, Govinda, Arbaaz Khan and Sunny Leone along with Ajay Devgn not to act or endorse any Pan masala products as they contain areca nuts and they are the main agents of 'Cancer'. Government too requested these actors to join Anti-tobacco campaign.
