Ilayathalapathy Vijay's 'Theri' has passed first two days and the collections were 'Breezy'. Fans of Vijay can have a huge sigh of relief as the movie was not a disaster like 'Puli'. The movie had a decent opening and despite negative reviews and sluggish screenplay, the movie has struck bull's eye at Box-office.
But still it is not good enough to overcome Ajith's 'Vedalam'. Ajith's 'Vedalam' was a storm at Box-office and the movie dominated the screen with housefull shows despite rains. 'Theri' on other hand lacked momentum due to bad word of mouth and also pirated version is doing rounds.
Producer Kalaipuli.S.Dhanu also never released the movie in Chengalpet areas due to his own selfishness. However it was just a loss for the movie. The movie never got released in few screens in interior parts of Tamil Nadu too. Also the theatre occupancy has dropped for 'Theri' on second day.
Right now Vijay's 'Theri' has collected around 20.46 Crores and it is expected to touch 50 Crores by next Friday. Ajith's 'Vedalam' made 24.71 Crores and the margin is solid. The wait continues for Vijay to beat Ajith's Box-office collection. On other hand, Telugu version also failed to get a release in overseas.
