National Awards is often considered as Oscar Awards in Indian Film industry. The Award is given to various artistes who proved their mettle in each field. Each year the award just gets better and better. But this year it has just been a downfall as the entire ceremony was miffed with controversies with the Kind of people selected for the awards in various categories.
Everyone felt that the Awards was too much inclined towards North Indian industry (Bollywood). Apart from that, we hear from reports that a cheap third rated incident has happened outside the venue.
Kalki Koechlin who gave a powerful performance in Margarita With A Straw, was groped while leaving Vigyan Bhavan. A witness said, the actress was leaving the premises with tight security and all of a sudden, guards leave her mid way and went to Amitabh Bachchan.

Kalki was badly mobbed and during this incident someone from the crowd has touched her inappropriately. The actress saved herself by running inside again. She also tried to file a Police complaint, but later dropped the idea. It is a shame that National awards ceremony can't even afford good guards.
