'Udta Punjab' is just facing a harsh time as censors are delayed for the movie. Censor board asked the team to remove 'Punjab' from the dialogues and also remove close up scenes of injecting drugs and some sex scenes. Review Committee of CBFC (Pahlaj Nihalani) wanted to ensure these before giving 'A' certificate.

But the movie's co-producer Phantom Films Limited immediately approached the Bombay High Court. This comes a day after the company sent a legal notice to the CBFC. The filmmakers claim that despite the review committee watching the movie on June 3rd, it did not get back to them till June 8th.

CBFC chairperson Pahlaj Nihalani had claimed that the committee report was ready on Monday but the filmmakers did not collect it. Producer Anurag Kashyap denied this claim from CBFC Chairperson.

Meanwhile, Shahid Kapoor who spoke to media said that youth these days are easily getting addicted to drugs and pre-marital sex. They must know that Drugs and sex are menace to their lives. That is what 'Udta Punjab' speaks about. However censor board seems to have other ideas.
