Special Shows and Midnight shows are often two edged swords for Star films. If the movie is good, they bring in additional collections. But if it bombed, the bad talk emerges right from those shows and kill the film on the first day itself. It happened with Superstar Mahesh Babu's recent disaster film, Brahmotsavam.
Abhishek Pictures, the Nizam distributor of the film managed to get the permission for an additional fifth show for the film in all the film theaters on the first day. But bad talk emanated from those shows and damaged the first day collections. Abhishek Pictures is also distributing Superstar Rajinikanth's Kabali in Nizam.
Learning lessons from Brahmotsavam experience, They have decided not to screen any special shows or midnight shows for the movie. Abhishek Pictures is releasing Kabali in 3 languages in Nizam in 333 theatres, highest for the Superstar till date. They reportedly shelled a whopping 10 Crore to bag the Nizam rights of the film.
