Ace Writer Kona Venkat's career is in big doldrums over the last couple of years as he could not garner a proper hit after Pandaga Chesko which released in 2015. After Pandaga Chesko, Kona Venkat worked for five films - Akhil Akkineni debut movie Akhil - The Power of Jua, Ram Charan's Bruce Lee, Gopichand's Soukhyam, Nikhil's Shankarabharanam and Nandamuri Bala Krishna's Dictator. But none of them worked at the box office.
All of them except for Dictator are considered as huge disasters at the box office. Kona Venkat is a partner in the production of Naga Chaitanya and Gautam Menon's Saahasam Swaasaga Saagipo whose release is held up for a long time due to various reasons. The writer had pinned high hopes on his next, Abhinetri to make it big at the box office and come back to winning streak.
Besides writing for Abhinetri, he is also the co-producer for the Telugu version on his Kona Film Corporation. The movie is having its audio release event on 25th of this month and it will hit the screens for October 7th as Dussehra Special.
However, there is an intense competition for Dussehra as several films are lined up for release to take the advantage of the holidays benefits.
Kona Venkat is looking to turn in to a director for a very long time. However, he wants to work only with star heroes. He wants to garner one big hit before approaching star heroes to give him a chance. So, Abhinetri is important to Kona Venkat in many ways. Sonu Sood, Sapthagiri, Murali Sharma, Hema, Prudhvi and Shakalaka Shankar will be seen in other important roles of Abhinetri. The movie is being made in Telugu, Tamil and Hindi with big budget of 70 crores in the direction of Vijay. Thaman is the music composer.
