With the upcoming Powerstar Pawan Kalyan starrer mass movie Agnyaathavaasi directed by Maverick maker Trivikram Srinivas releasing tomorrow, the expectations are at all time high thanks to the previous track record of this combo, as the result has nothing less than a Superhit or an industry hit, with their last outing together, Atharintiki Dhaaredhi, smashing records despite piracy leak.
With special shows and charity shows, fan premieres organised all over AP and TG, with Andhra Pradesh government backing the film, allowing 24*7 showtimes for a week, with special preview show on day 1, the US ticket window isn't far behind as well, as the US had always been a happy hunting ground for Telugu movies.
Agnyaathavaasi is being released at a massive number of locations, 514 to be exact, which is an all-time record for Indian movies, and that is higher than 'Dangal', 'Sultan' and even 'Baahubali'. So, this is the strategy they have done to make it look bigger,
From the above table, you can be sure that more than 230 screens will never even recover their VPF/Disk costs and the rest of the screens combined gross is $100,000. So, even if 'Agnyathavaasi' released in 284 screens instead of the over hype 514 screens, the total gross is just going to be around $1.5 Million. If the wor of mouth was good, this strategy would've helped for sure. But as the movie got bad response, it actually failed!
