Comedian turned hero Sunil has been facing continuous disasters, though he had initially started with hits like maryada ramanna by SS Rajamouli and Poola rangadu by Veerabhadram. However, lady luck failed to glare at him later, as all his films went on to become colossal disasters at the box office.
Though he got to star in Tanu Weds Manu Remake Mr. Pellikoduku and also in Vettai remake Tadakha with Nag Chaitanya which managed to Salvage some pride, none of his movies other than Bheemavaram Bullodu could fare commercially. He then faced disasters back to back with Krishna Ashtami, Jakkanna, Eedu Gold Ehe and Ungarala Rambabu.
After so Much setbacks, Sunil finally decided to backtrack and change gears to his roots of becoming a comedian again, and tried to get a role in Megastar Chiranjeevi's Sye Raa Narasimha Reddy, which didn't work out. While he got to play an equal role alongside Allari Naresh in his next movie, he has himself let go off the comedian role in Ravi Teja starrer Nela ticket, directed by Kalyan Krishna, citing date issues, and the role ultimately went to Ali.With Sunil himself letting go of opportunities, it is unclear if Sunil wants to continue as a hero or return to comedy full-fledged.
