Just as his grandeur entertainer, the period drama Padmaavat directed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali which hit screens last week and opened to decent critical response and Amazing collections, the crazy superstar of Bollywood, Ranveer Singh, who played the role of the ruthless and madly violent Alauddin Khilji in the movie has revealed reasons beyond him quitting a most expected flick.
The flick happens to be none other than the Bollywood remake of 2017 Telugu sensational Blockbuster Arjun Reddy, which will be directed by the maker of the original, Sandeep Vanga himself. While Sandeep Vanga initially wanted to cast Ranveer Singh in the lead role, Ranveer had refused the offer politely, revealing that the film required him to consume alcohol, and he has always been a teetotaler, who hasn't even drunk occasionally, and hence his way of method acting won't suit this flick.
And with Ranveer Singh quitting the project, the movie was said to star Arjun Kapoor in the lead role, though Sandeep Vanga's choice happens to be Ranveer Singh's costar in Padmavat, Shahid Kapoor. It must be noted that Shahid Kapoor perfected the role of a drug addict rock star in Udta Punjab. Let's see if Shahid makes it finally into this Yashraj films venture. Meanwhile, Padmavat has grossed more than 250 crores worldwide.
