The teaser of the much awaited horror flick of Tamil cinema , Mercury, directed by the promising young maker of films like Pizza, Jigarthanda and Iraivi, Karthik Subbaraj, and starring the Indian Michael Jackson Prabhudeva along with newcomers, was released recently by the south stars Dhanush, Nivin Pauly, Rakshit Shetty and Rana Daggupati.




The stunning teaser featured eerie visuals, beginning with a shot on the memorial of 84 people who had died due to mercury poisoning in 1992, in a hill station, with a bunch of youngsters getting to witness and get scared by a strange and blood thirsty person played by Prabhudeva. Prabhudeva's looks and makeup looks like he plays a Zombie, and with his terrorizing body language generating fright, Mercury is sure to be a milestone for the actor. But, sources say that the movie is inspired from Hollywood movie, "Don't Breathe" where the lead actor is vision impaired.

With spine-chilling background score by Santhosh Narayanan and horrifying perfect visuals by Cinematographer Tirrunavukarasu being the highlights of the teaser, the film has been revealed to be a silent movie with no dialogues and just background score, and that the film is releasing worldwide on Friday the 13th of April. With Karthik Subbaraj committed to direct Superstar Rajnikanth next, Mercury has now reached heights of expectations.
