As Mega Powerstar Ramcharan made a return to silver screens 2 years post his stylish crime thriller Dhruva directed by Surender Reddy, with the rural revenge drama Rangasthalam directed by Sukumar, and co-starring Samantha, Aadhi Pinisetty, Prakashraj and Jagapati Babu, the film has received overwhelmingly positive response from critics all over.
Rangasthalam which is touted to be Ramcharan's career-best performance has become the unprecedented box office number 1 this week, not just in AP/ TG, but also in all states where it was released, and even in the US, it has already grossed more than 2$ million mark, including the premieres.
Now, it has been estimated that Rangasthalam has set yet another stunning record in the neighboring state Tamilnadu, as the movie has become the best opening day collector among Telugu films in Chennai so far.
While Pawan Kalyan Starrer Agnyaathavaasi had held the best day 1 collection record of 24 lakhs in the city so far, the record was broken by Ramcharan's Rangasthalam, which collected 25 lakhs on day 1, toppling Powerstar to become the new number 1 at Chennai Box office. The movie also beat 'Baahubali 1' by making Rs.5.1 Crores on Tuesday and the drop is just 20%. The movie is at an All-Time Top 3 position for now with a distributor share of 56.30 Cr.
