The romantic hero of the early 2000s, R Madhavan, who was introduced by ac director Maniratnam in his blockbuster Alaipayuthey, and went on to star in several romantic entertainers like Minnale, Dum Dum Dum, established himself as a perfect fit for chocolate boy roles, gaining a huge female fan following.



However, the actor took a turn and transformed into an action hero with films like Run, Thambi etc, and after several years filled with lesser south movies, and few Hindi hits, Maddy made a comeback with movies like Irudhi Suttru and Vikram Vedha. Now, the actor will be seen in his second Telugu flick after the forgettable Om Shanthi, with Naga Chaitanya starrer Savyasachi.

It has been said that R Madhavan plays a dark character with lots of negative shades and that his character will be the highlight of the movie, on par with the likes of Siddharth Abhimanyu of Thani Oruvan fame.
