After a string of failures like Oru Nalla Naal Paathu Solren and Junga, Makkal Selvan Vijay Sethupathi made a strong comeback with his Maniratnam directorial gangster drama Chekka Chivantha Vaanam which had him as a cop, and later with his romantic entertainer 96, where he plays a photographer.
While Chekka Chivantha Vaanam has reached its closing, and has achieved a closing business of around 65 crores worldwide gross, 96, despite being a romantic entertainer, mostly conversational, and with the screenplay focusing on just two characters, has achieved box office glory despite the release of biggies.
Now, this success has taken Trisha to various places as she has been roped once again for a rom-com where she will team up with Vijay Sethupathi once again. The movie will be helmed by a debut director and will be bankrolled by VMV.
