Nandamuri Balakrishna and Krish who had previously delivered a blockbuster with Gautamiputra Satakarni are back this time yet again delivering a Sankranthi special in the form of the Biopic of legendary yesteryear Superstar and former Andhra Pradesh chief minister NTR, NTR Kathanayakudu.
The movie portrays the journey of NTR from his humble beginnings as a railway clerk to a superstar, his films that became blockbusters and interesting moments from them, his bonding with his beloved wife Basavatarakam and that ultimate love for his people and their welfare that pushes NTR to step into politics.
Balakrishna delivers a lovely, natural performance as NTR, almost totally bringing the legend Alive on screen and Vidya Balan is impressive. The rest of the cast is adequate, and with good music by MM Keeravani, stunning visuals by VS Gnanasekhar, Krish has weaved an interesting screenplay narrating the eventful life of India's biggest superstar and despite the 3 hour runtime, keeps audience glued, making NTR Kathanayakudu a must watch Biopic to cherish and learn about the leader despite few demerits like the first half where Balakrishna tries to be Young NTR and a very long running time.
