Superstar Rajnikanth gave a good decent comeback after duds like Kaala and Kabali by Pa Ranjith with back to back hits like Shankar directorial magnum opus 2.0 and the recent Pongal runner movie Petta directed by Karthik Subbaraj and costarring Trisha and Simran.
Competing with Thala Ajith's Viswasam, Petta emerged as number 2 but somehow managed to be a comeback for vintage Rajni and next he is all set to start his next movie, his 166th movie titled as 'Darbar' which will unite him with AR Murugadoss who is known for plagiarism.
Now it has been confirmed that this movie will have ace cinematographer Santosh Sivan handling cinematography 27 years after working with the actor in Maniratnam's Thalapathy, and the cameraman has worked with Murugadoss earlier in Thuppakki and Spyder. The female lead was huge suspense and most of the media reported Rakul Preet will be the female lead, but today, it has been revealed that Nayantara will be the female lead.
