In the picture is the construction of Charminar set constructed for Mahesh Babu's Okkadu movie. The set itself costed 2 Crore Rupees for the producer in those days. Art director Ashok Kumar erected the set.
Ashok even went on to bag Nandi Award for the marvelous construction. The charminar set was almost on the same scale as the historic landmark of the city.
In the movie, hero Ajay (Mahesh Babu) hides heroine Swapna (Bhumika) in Charminar. The movie unit could not obtain permission to shoot in the historic structure and also found that the crowd control will become difficult in sensitive area like Old city. They have decided to erect the historic structure.
