Director Vamsi is planning a sequel for his 1991 Comedy blockbuster April 1 Vidudhala starring Rajendra Prasad and Shobana. The ace director had already prepared the script for this project and will be announcing the project very soon. Chakri who is the music director for all Vamsi projects off late will be scoring music for this movie too.
April 1 Vidudhala which was released in 1991 was made on a very low budget. It was shot in a single location in just two weeks. Ilayaraja's comedy and excellent comedy in the movie made it a blockbuster then and the film is still a classic now. Several fine actors Mallikarjuna Rao, Jayalalita, Krishna Bhagawan were part of the project then. Only Krishna Bhagwan and Rajendra Prasad are still active in film industry from the movie cast.
April 1 Vidudhala is the story of Diwakaram (Rajendra Prasad) who lives telling lies to people. He borrows money from people of his colony telling several lies but do not return them. He falls in love with a lady, Bhuvaneswari (Shobana) who comes to the colony. Diwakaram falls for her but Bhuvaneshwari imposes condition that she will marry him only if he do not speak at least a single lie for a whole month. The month ends on April 1st so the movie is titled 'April 1 Vidudhala'. We will have to see how Vamsi starts this sequel project.
