The reason behind her step is domestic violence. Veteran actress Rati Agnihotri decided to put an end for 30 yearlong marriage by divorcing her husband Anil Virwani, owing to domestic violence. The 54 years old actress has 37 years of connection with media and cinema.
In the 1980s, Rati Agnihotri was known for starring in popular films such as 'Ek Duuje Ke Liye' and 'Coolie'. She also appeared in many telugu films. She appeared in role of Chiru’s Maradalu in Punnami Naagu film. At the peak of her career, in 1985, she married architect Anil Virwani after a whirlwind courtship.
Rati had chosen to speak before media on domestic sufferings within the four walls. Agnihotri has opened up about the relentless torture and abuse she faced at the hands of her husband for nearly three whole decades. According to her the violence started in the early years of their marriage and became progressively more frequent as time passed
Agnihotri recently approached police and complained against her husband. She told the police in her complaint that her husband had beaten her up on March 7 over a dispute.
