Selvaraghavan refrained from directing movies after 'Irandam Ulagam' release. But he took up screenplay and story writing for 'Maalai Nerathu Mayakkam' as his spouse Geetanjali Selvaraghavan is making her directorial debut with the movie. Kola Baskar who has been a regular to Selvaraghavan is producing the movie.

Editor Kola Bhaskar's son Balakrishna Kola is doing male lead role and Debutante Wamiqa Gabbi pairs against him.The teaser which released last week had some soul-stirring back ground score. As the teaser was a success, the single track 'Sarakaa' was also released.
Music is composed by Achchu and Sridhar handles cinematography. Vasanth Rukesh provides the cuts. U.J. Murugan handles art direction. We hear from sources that the post-production work is also completed for the project.
The team has now revealed that the Audio of the movie will be unveiled on 9th of October along with a trailer. Think Music has bagged the Audio rights of the movie. Renowned celebrities and prominent members from the industry will be attending the Audio launch.
