UAE has recommended Indian Government to honour NRI Sundar Aditya Menon with the Padmashri award. But now UAE's recommendation has been challenged in Kerala High court by CK Padmanaban. A petition was filed by Padmanaban from Kozhikode and he has alleged that Menon was involved in various criminal cases and there were lots of cases registered against him.

Recently Aditya Menon was recommended for the award for his contribution in the field of social work. He is a native of Kerala and so far, no reference was made from State Government. Petitioner also claimed that he was involving in all illegal and criminal activities for more than thirty years.

When we buzzed sources to know whether it was true, we came to know that he was involved in a customs case related to Gold smuggling in Mumbai. He was also involved in a case for criminal breach of trust, cheating, criminal intimidation, and conspiracy, which was registered in Thrissur's East Fort police station.

Petitioner said that UAE Government has recommended without checking his original backdrop. According to Article 18 of Indian constitution, he asked to cancel Padma Shri recommendation by UAE.
