The ongoing Assembly session in Andhra Pradesh is a classic example of how Opposition is inept in cashing the opportunities. YSR Congress Party got a good chance to corner the state government in several crucial issues like Call Money, Fake Liquor and Bauxite Mining. Any Opposition would have exposed the government before people but YSRCP scored a self goal instead.
Chandrababu got his moves right first by limiting the number of days in the session to just five days. The opposition further handed a weapon to the ruling party with the loose tongue of Roja. The entire issues are gone away and the only issue that is going to dominate the Assembly is that of Roja's suspension. The government will not change its decision.
And on the other side, Jagan will be compelled to fight for her. That will mean that the remaining two days in the session will vanish with out discussing key issues. Chandrababu managed two birds with one shot. The government managed to steer away to safety on the key issues as well as got the most irritating voice of the assembly out for the next one year. YSR Congress needs serious introspection here.
