In connection to the PNB Scam case, former RBI Deputy Governor HR Khan had been interrogated by the CBI. After an accusation of illegal transactions worth 12700 crores, a renowned diamond merchant Nirav Modi had been raided by enforcement directorate, and after confiscation of lots of documents and arrests of more than 18 people, more than 5300 crores were seized.
However, there has been no progress in the case, as Nirav Modi had escaped from India, and was reported to be hiding in Hong Kong. CBI had said that it will take all the necessary actions to bring back Nirav Modi from wherever he's hiding. In such a situation prevailing in this multi crores scam, today, the CBI has begun investigating former RBI Deputy governor HR Khan, in association with the Nirav Modi - PNB fraud case.
CBI officials have said that he is
being investigated upon allegations that he had been involved in exchanging of
documents to help Modi procure crores of loans. With interrogations on to
estimate and analyze HR Khan's participation in the scam, it has been expected
that an Income Tax raid will soon be held at his residence.
