Yatra - the Film on Late YS Rajasekhar Reddy's Padayatra was premiered on Star Maa on 7th April just before the Polling in Andhra Pradesh. Citing that is being telecast three days before the elections for political benefit, TDP wanted to stop at any cost and complained to the Election Commission refused to interfere.
According to BARC which gives ratings for Television Programs, the movie has got 6.9 ratings for its Premiere which is good for a film with no star cast. Yatra is a propaganda film aimed to help YSR Congress in the elections by invoking YSR Sentiment. TDP is worried if this means the movie was lapped by the audience and if it would impact their chances.
It may be difficult to say that until the results of Andhra Pradesh Elections will be out on May 23rd. As of now, both the parties are confident of coming to Power despite the fact majority of Pre-Poll surveys indicate that it is going to be a sweep by YS Jagan Mohan Reddy's YSR Congress. Let us see who will have the last laugh on May 23rd.
